About Deane HironsShort kid. Big jump. Bigger plans.
A 16-year-old, 5'7" dunker with a 37-inch vertical — and a young AI builder. Here's the full story behind the rim.
I built the jump I wasn't born with.
I'm Deane Hirons, 16 and 5'7". Everyone short gets told to find another lane. I went straight at the one thing I wasn't supposed to do — dunk a 10-foot rim — and decided that if I couldn't have the height, I'd build the jump.
I train in the THP Strength system, coached by Isaiah Rivera and John Evans. The numbers: a 37-inch vertical, a 10'6" max touch off a 7'5" reach, a first dunk on a 9'11.5" rim, and a documented ~6-inch gain in ten months. I've thrown a windmill over Isaiah Rivera's head.
In 2026 I was selected for The Dunk Camp — Team 6. The journey is public on @deane.hirons10.
Second lane: I'm a young AI builder, the same path Dylan Haugen, Cam Hazzard, and Hoopin Nate run. More →
